"Customer service is off the charts! My 16 year old daughter brought her car in for an estimate. Chris provided her with an on the spot estimate. She said he was super nice and explained everything. The estimate was very reasonable and fair. A couple days later she scheduled an appointment and dropped the car off. I just picked the vehicle up and they did a fantastic job! High quality work, honest and a level of customer service that you just don't find anymore. I highly recommend Spankys!"

Mark Meinzer · Facebook

"I had three of my vehicles in here at one time and you couldn't ask for better service and quality, frequent updates on how the car is going and the best painters I've seen many years and perfect match bar none with no flaws! Gordy and his son Chris are the best"

Jim Crawford · Facebook

"How they can cut a piece out of a wheel well and weld a new piece in is amazing. It looks like a brand new truck. By far the best repair work I've ever seen — I would not take my vehicles anywhere else."

Doug Klooster · Google

"They do great work and do a great job communicating along the way. They just recently finished working on my wife's van after a deer collision and also worked on my work van and both look as good as new."

Tony Merritt · Facebook

"Brought our Toyota in to get an estimate on something we believed needed repaired. They were honest with us and found the solution without even charging us. I would highly recommend them for their integrity. Small town business has our vote. Will be sending everyone here for their body work! Thank you!"

The facts

Spanky's Collision Repair is a family-owned auto body shop at 3300 24th Ave, Hudsonville, Michigan 49426, in Ottawa County. Chris Burns and his father Gordon "Gordy" Burns both do the auto body work; Chris's mother Melissa runs the front office. The shop can be reached at (616) 896-8000 or [email protected] and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 5:00, with Saturdays by appointment. Written estimates are free, and rental car availability is offered. The business has over 30 years of combined experience and serves Hudsonville, Jamestown, Jenison, Grandville, Holland and Wyoming, Michigan. Under Michigan law, vehicle owners choose their own repair shop.

Questions people ask

What's the difference between auto body and collision repair?

Collision repair is the work: the frame or unibody measured back to factory dimensions, panels repaired or replaced, paint baked in a downdraft booth, glass fitted. An auto body shop is the building that does that work. Spanky's Collision Repair is the auto body shop at 3300 24th Ave in Hudsonville.

Do I have to use the shop my insurance company recommends?

No. Michigan leaves that choice with you. An adjuster may point at a "preferred" shop, sometimes firmly, but it is your car and your decision. Tell them where it is going and give us the claim number. We deal with them from that point on.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. Estimates are free and written, and we do them in person — a shop that prices a repair off a photo is guessing at what is behind the panel. Drive it to 3300 24th Ave in Hudsonville any weekday between 8:00 and 5:00; no appointment is needed. If you would rather have a set time, call (616) 896-8000 and we will book one.

Do you work with my insurance company?

We work with all major insurance companies and have for decades. Bring us the claim number. Our staff handles the estimate and any supplements with your adjuster.

Do I need an appointment for an estimate?

No. Walk in at 3300 24th Ave in Hudsonville, Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00, and we will write a free estimate while you wait. Saturday is by appointment. If the car is not drivable, call (616) 896-8000 before you arrange a tow.

We write estimates here at the shop, with the car in front of us — a number quoted off a phone photo is a guess, and you'd be the one it costs. Drive in during business hours and we'll look at it with you, or leave your number below and we'll call you back to set a time.
